Music Committee
 
 
The Music Committee is a sub-committee of the Worship and Pastoral Care Committee. As such, it is not a decision-making body, but receives requests for activity and makes recommendations.

Membership

7 or 8 members, one of whom shall be a member of the Worship Committee. Included in that number are the Director of Music (ex officio) and one representative of each church choir.

Mandate

  • Act as a support and reflection group for the Director of Music and for choirs within the congregations
  • prepare an annual budget request for music activities and resources within the congregation, and submit it to the Worship Committee
  • Initiate music events in consultation with the Director of Music and the Worship Committee
  • consider long-range physical and spiritual needs of the music programme and of the congregation, and make recommendations as appropriate.
  • be involved in the selection of the Director of Music, and other musicians as appropriate
  • The committee shall meet at least four times a year, or at the request of the Director of Music or other members of the committee.
