Every Sunday at 10:30 am, you are a welcome part of our community worship. When you come to Bloor Street United Church, make sure you bring your whole family. All are welcome. As your children begin to explore the world, they will also begin to explore their spirituality. Here at Bloor Street we have engaging Church School Programs designed to help your child hear about and respond to the mystery of God.
For children who need space to play or to nap, our staffed Nursery School is open every Sunday from 10:30 am - 11:45 am. You may come and go and leave your child as you would like.
Church School
We have two Church School classes (Primary: ages 3-8 years; Junior: ages 9-14 years) which run during the worship service and are staffed by experienced Sunday School teachers. The children have opportunities to hear about the story of God and Jesus, to share with one another and to participate in various hands-on and fun activities.
Youth on Bloor
Youth on Bloor is the joint youth and young adult ministry of three neighbouring United Church of Canada congregations in the vicinity of Spadina and Bloor. The youth ministry has a shared leadership of youth, aged 14 and up, and adults in a dynamic ministry of social engagement, recreation and leadership development. The focus is to make the Word of God real in Toronto, in our multicultural city.
University and College-aged Young Adults
Bloor Street has a long tradition as a "university" church, a place where spiritual nourishment and intellectual growth go hand in hand. We welcome university students, and all interested young adults, to touch base and discuss current issues over a good meal. These dinners are held on the first Sunday of every month at the church. Adult Study Groups
You may also want to know about all the different activities that go on during the week. There are many different adult study groups, book study groups. Call one of the ministers or call the church office for information about study groups. There usually is a study during Advent before Christmas and during Lent before Easter. Each year in the spring there will be a Renewal of Faith study group.
