The Endowment Fund was formally established in 1968 as a way for both members and supporters of the church to continue their financial support through their wills in perpetuity. It has also received three gifts during the lifetimes of church members.
The Endowment Fund is not just money. It is people.
The funds from the endowment fund support the operations of our congregation. Since Bloor Street United Church received its first bequest, many members and friends have elected to direct a portion of their accumulated possessions to support the life and work of the congregation after their death. Their love of their church and their commitment to its future ministry continue to enrich and sustain our ministry both locally and beyond our community.
Members of the congregation have made gifts to the church with a view to providing funds for the continuation of their regular givings after their deaths. We are truly blessed for the 105 gifts that the fund has received over the 55 years of financial stewardship.
A planned gift (bequest) is a gift made from a person’s assets rather than regular income. When making a Will, we encourage you to consider a gift to Bloor Street United Church to continue our tradition of stewardship.
You can support the endowment fund by including a clause in your Will that details your wish to identify Bloor Street United Church as a recipient. Information to include:
– Bloor Street United Church
– 300 Bloor Street West, Toronto, ON
– Our Charitable Registration Number: 106798549RR0001
You can specify a dollar amount you wish to gift, a percentage of your estate, or the residue of your estate.
