As part of Bloor Street’s effort to increase our understanding and activism on anti-racism, our minister Martha ter Kuile has been leading a year-long study group.
The group meets monthly by ZOOM, from 7 – 8.30 pm, at zoomchurch
We focus on novels rather than non-fiction or documentaries, because fiction is a more direct invitation to the imagination, and a way to grasp the experience of others. We use these books as a starting point for a discussion of our own experience and understanding of the dynamics of racism.
You are most welcome to join the discussion. The next books are:
April 20th: The Vanishing Half by Britt Bennett
May 18th: Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe
June 15th: Transcendent Kingdom by Yaa Gyasi
