As part of Bloor Street’s effort to increase our understanding and activism on anti-racism, our minister Martha ter Kuile will be leading a year-long study group. This is a shared initiative of the Worship and Christian Development Committee and the Social Justice Committee. The group will meet monthly by ZOOM, on the third Tuesday, from 7 – 8:30 p.m., at the church ZOOM link on the home page.
We will focus on novels rather than non-fiction or documentaries, because fiction is a more direct invitation to the imagination, and a way to grasp the experience of others. We’ll use these books as a starting point for a discussion of our own experience and understanding of the dynamics of racism.
